Festival Iberia On The Road

The last two years Festival IBERIA has been making return-trips in between Georgia and the Netherlands. We managed to bring some patches, some small fragments of the colourful mosaic called Georgia to the Netherlands. And although those alone are bright enough to make one fall in love with Georgia, they are still nothing, but fragments.

  • If you have been following our adventures and want to experience the whole palette of Georgian images, sounds and tastes for real,
  • If you are looking on your travel-map for a place where rich ancient culture, amazing traditions and rituals, breath-taking landscapes, exquisite cuisine and wines, lively city-life, charming countryside and very warm and welcoming people are to be found,
  • Or if you are looking for something new, authentic and completely different from what you have seen before,

Then Festival IBERIA On The Road is for you.

ArtEcho Foundation and the Georgian togetre with it's partners are organizing special
Festival IBERIA cultural tours to Georgia from the Netherlands. The tours are unique and are specially designed for those who want to feel Georgia with every breath. Each tour consists of 10 exciting days: excursions and city-trips, hikes in the mountains and visits to museums, churches, caves and fortresses, concerts of traditional music, wine-tasting sessions and various workshops.
In short, emotions and experiences you are not likely to find anywhere else. We take care of every single detail to make your trip comfortable and unforgettable. Join our movable feast and discover Georgia!

Animation workshop live online
The workshop by Gerrit van Dijk has started. For 18 Georgian film students, Gerrit van Dijk
and his workshop assistant Max Sipkes it means days full of intense work, intense animation
and intense emotions. For the rest of us it means the great expectations of the movie to come
and – the thrill of observation: now two close-ups are available online.
The workshop website www.animation-from-the-west.nl presents an online journal of the
working process. The rules of the game, the photos of the students, their daily progress and
other interesting features give a perfect insider’s view of this unique movie-making.
To give the picture some volume, we have added a fresh look on this project from the
outside. Festival Iberia has settled a dedicated partnership with De Telegraaf newspaper. The
animation making-of is day by day observed and covered on www.telegraaf.nl. We made sure
that you won’t miss a thing!

Dutch art and Georgian hospitality

17-05-2011

Festival Iberia is building an art-bridge between Georgia and the Netherlands. And while the Dutch art is making the first steps towards a new land, Georgia is giving to its guests a traditional, warm, singing welcome. The opening ceremony of the Festival Iberia will be tuned by the charming voices of Martve (www.martve.ge). This famous Georgian children’s folklore ensemble is also preparing a special welcome gift for the Dutch guests and for all the festival audience – several Dutch songs performed in a unique, Georgian way. Be sure not to miss it!
